Laroda was in OPM in charge of NIB ...... He buck heads with Davis over the viability of NIB ..... He was then sacked from the position. Now he is Minister of the most unlucky portfolio. Davis is out to bury him.
Not always true. But there is a lot of stifling of competent persons in order to make them tow the party or agency line. The PLP Cabinet is the classic case. With no backbenchers, Davis has created a bunch of "yes men". Same thing in PF, where the COP & Munroe can quiet dissent by giving out worthless promotions. The ACPs will just sit there with nothing to do and rot from malaise.
This is all the doing of the New Day PLP Govt to promote & stack every agency with PLP loyalists, so that any FNM government that takes over will be frustrated and stifled from getting any meaningful work done to reform or upgrade (or downsize) or right fit the civil service.
We have seen it before. No need to promote 700 PF officers when other agencies wait for many years to get 20 promotions. Classic pandering to a specific group.
Our solution is fairly simple ....... Restrict the number of private vehicles to no more than 1 per household and restrict the size & types of private vehicles. See Bermuda as a great example of this.
Then implement a modern 24/7 public transit service that can service the WHOLE of New Providence and get rid of the "free for all" chaotic and unregulated private bus service that exists today.
Except that our Govt is powerless to change it OR pandering to powerful lobby groups in the transport business.
This is the New Day pick for COP ....... He reflects the hapless, corrupt leadership of his bosses (Davis & Munroe).
Bahamas, we are in deep shit with this poor quality of political & policing leadership. Don't expect any improvement in 2024. Trust in God, not these men.
URCA should be investigated for being complicit & toothless in defending the public interests of Bahamian citizens ........ and allowing Snake to monopolize the fuel business in The Bahamas.
Why are we holding the COP to a whimsical murder count when we (the citizens) ard doing almost nothing to improve our social life and conflict resolution to lower the murderous culture that has taken over our urban life???
Outside of a 10 square mile area of inner city Nassau, the national murder rate would rarely top 30 in a given year.
Find out what is happening between Kemp Road, Robinson Road, Nassau Street & Govt Hill Ridge.
If these Junkanoo groups are correct in their estimates that it takes at least 250K to 500K to bring an A group to Bay Street ...... Then why is Govt only giving 30K and trying to hogtie a group over it?
