Rollins is passionate and really loves The Bahamas. He is young and just needs to get his political instincts in check. I agree that he needs strong mentoring (Not the LBT variety!) Papa Ingraham maybe?

On Rollins may have FNM future

I have been critical of Rollins in the past but I liked this. Fitzgerald will think twice about criticizing the Dr. again. I think Rollins would have excelled as FNM chairman. Even Bradley Roberts can't match up with Rollins in subject command and intellect. Rollins is still young... he can probably be PM one day if he gets his political instincts in check.

Well... it's not really a 'manhunt' if you don't know who you're looking for. The term 'manhunt' is used when one or more suspects is identified, and police are trying to find them. In this case, the police are hunting for a clue. Just sayin'.

Great ideas... I would honestly email these to both Christie (not sure if it'll help now) and to Dr. Minnis. We have a very big problem with inefficiency. It would be a new way of thinking for us but we're in a crisis. Let the general population relax and live with an 'island' attitude. Our police, marines, and other first responders need to be run in world-class fashion.
Further to 'F'... build a brand new prison and renovate the existing Fox Hill as a centralized Jail/Remand/Detention center. No matter how you feel, Fox Hill is not fit for any kind of human occupancy. The Commissioner and Prime Minister are constantly seeking the public's assistance. There are decent Bahamian people who don't cooperate because they don't want their children and grandchildren in Fox Hill. If we had a new facility that could reasonably house prisoners, the public might be more inclined to help.
Further to 'J'... acquire and train gun sniffing dogs (they are trained on the scent of gunpowder and residue) Keep them in the communities, ports of entry, and on defence force vessels to assist during at-sea inspections.

Ah, my... I feel bad for you Dr. Rollins. If LBT taught us one thing, it's that blind ambition can destroy the landscape to which one seeks to ascend. Dr. Rollins, take some time off... maybe run as an independent. At the right time, Prime Minister Minnis will probably forgive you and welcome you back. In the meantime, go res' ya self l'il while.

Dr. Nottage, civilized societies don't turn their militaries on their people. "All the peacemakers turn war officers"

sp1nks says...

Yes, it is possible to forgot a child in a car. This is simply sad all around. I know people are fed up, but we can't lock people up until slackness doesn't exist. We were at our best when we had compassion and weren't so vengeful. Whoever did this will probably be haunted for the rest of their life. Use that space in Fox Hill for the brazen, lawless thugs shooting people down indiscriminately, not someone trying so hard to survive that they're living in a haze.

On Boy who died in car had been left 'by mistake'

Too many percentages! Last year, Nottage was suggesting that crime was down over the last month, and same period last year. The figures for, and against are misleading. Crime statistics should be measured over a period of years... think 'weather versus climate'

Actually... any civilized force instructs its officer to be armed and vigilant at all times. Putting on a uniform makes one a target. Even though the officer was running, and presumably in workout clothes, we don't yet know if he was being stalked because of the mere fact that he was an officer.

Our country is still in bad shape though.

I'm less inclined to suggest that LBT is the best thing from heaven, than I am inclined to believe that Rollins has no idea what's going on. LBT at least demonstrates sustained conviction. Rollins' ideas and motivations seem to change within a single sentence.
