Back at ya Hissyfit, like you I don't believe in either child or wife beating but lack of discipline in this country has brought us to where we are today, in the schools , in the home and on the streets. I, for one, cannot say our society is a better place as a result. As a child of the fifties who was raised in a home where corporal punishment was the norm for unacceptable behavior, I cannot say that a few good cut ass turned me into a psychopath, but it certainly taught me manners and respect for my betters and elders.

So are you suggesting that the student should go unpunished for telling the teacher about her private parts in front of the class? Please go to the head of the class!

Typical government reaction to typical union bullying and extortion, roll over on the floor with their legs in the air, their tail tucked firmly between them, then the puddle on the floor............

Birdie, stick with the guano business its what you're best at. While you're at it you might want enter into a contract with Maynard to provide BS to sell with your product.

The clause has two meanings, from which of his two orifices doth he speak???

Maynard needs to shut up and sit small! One of the reasons BEC/BPL is in such dire straits is because of his union which has treated the Corporation as their personal cash cow since time. His tune never varies, gimme what I want or ga turn ya current off and shut down the corporation. Get a frikkin life!
Ain nobody let your people go, they all saw a wonderful opportunity to grab the money and run so who raping who?
It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see half of those who took the separation package rehired shortly, shades of BTC.
As for the union "training" anyone, what would you train them to do, throw chains over power lines and sabotage cables? These people are from the same organization that installed the engines at Clifton which you and your "well qualified" bruddas have let go to crap from lack of proper maintenance.
Ever since dem union boys drop all dat cut ass on you all dem years ago you bin singing in their choir but ya'll ain know how outta tune ya'll really is.

@ joeblow, I can think of one other, Athena Damianos, but she retired from journalism many years ago and it is doubtful that she could be persuaded to return to the circus that masquerades as journalism in this country. We no longer have reporters only repeaters!

John, the crux of the matter here is that the government, AKA the taxpayers, should NOT be footing the bill to rebuild the Ragged Islanders homes when they cannot provide the same subsidy for every other Bahamian, Androsian, Exumian, Nassuvian, Eleutheran, Grand Bahamian who's home was damaged or destroyed by hurricane, or are you suggesting that some Bahamians are more deserving of taxpayer subsidy than others?
The government should be responsible for the rebuilding/restoration of the islands infrastructure ie water, electricity, communications etc but restoration/rebuilding of private property is a matter for the owner. Duty exemption can be provided as in the past for building materials etc but the onus still falls to the property owner to fix their own stuff.

Anyone actually listening to this talking suit? Who the hell is he to be running on about housing when a bunch of his constituents still living under tarpaulin more than a year after the hurricane.
