While I might not agree with a lot of Mr. Ingrahams literary offerings, I am 100% behind him on this. The nuisance of Bahamians use of cell phones, particularly texting while driving, has become the biggest aggravation to many drivers like myself and a public menace. As someone who spends a great deal of time on the roads I have witnessed countless accidents, many of them completely avoidable, because of people driving their phone instead of their car. We already have a law to enforce cell phone use while driving, "Driving without due care and attention" is still on the books when last I checked.
And If the government pisses away $100 million dollars of their current hospitals budget, can't account for where it went, then want to tax me for the double the amount to launch their "new" healthcare system I suppose that's just peachy. I suppose I should also feel privileged by destituting myself to look after all those illegitimates I never brought into this world because their "parents" couldn't afford the price of a condom. And I don't suppose for one minute that you would have any difficulty with the government regulating what you charge for your services or dictating what you are able to earn by the sweat of your own brow? As Winston Churchill once put it " The inherent vice of capitalism is unequal sharing of blessings, the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries."
Andrew Allen, obviously still dazed and confused, I'm quite sure that all of his clients are dealt with Pro Bono...... "One of the consequences of such notions as "entitlements" is that people who have contributed nothing to society feel that society owes them something, apparently just for being nice enough to grace us with their presence." Also, "I have never understood why it is "greed" to want to keep the money you've earned, but not greed to want to take someone elses money."
Spot on Ms. Damianos! Not only our beaches but the country,Nassau in particular, is one big garbage dump. Antiquated and unenforced litter laws and a people with no pride who think nothing about littering their own doorsteps then scream for the government to come clean it up. How much taxpayer money has been spent over the years on Urban Renewal contractors and by Ministry of Works & Health to clean up entire communities only for them to revert back to squalor within a matter of weeks? They say cleanliness is next to Godliness but too many of our peeps dem are neither clean nor Godly.
Strange thing, Birdie starting to sound just like Bradley Roberts. Maybe they should take the advise of another PLP, Philip Galanis, as he stated in the Guardian this morning; " Sometimes people need to shut up."
Pastor Moss,I wasn't aware that the carnal carnival participants were having sex in the streets, if this had been widely known ticket sales would have far exceeded Paul Majors expectations, I might even have considered buying season tickets myself, LoL.
