I don't understand the issue here. They bought the property. They want to put their stores in there. What's the issue. Why are these hotel properties dictating what goes there. None of these hotel properties are keeping the money they make in this country. These foreign business owners are generally not looking out for the best interests of this country. So, why are they having so much say here? I see Bahamar teaming up with Royal Caribbean for the destruction of Paradise Island. I don't get how a bunch of non-Bahamians are having so much input and sway in this country. When they are finished destroying and pillaging this country, thg eyes will leave and go.gome with their vast fortunes made here.

If Wendy's and Marcos want to go.in that spot or if the ghost of Christmas past, who.cares. They own the spot. There are tons of establishments on Paradise Island. Why block these two? Are the hotels afraid their guests may opt for Wendy's and Marco's as opposed to an overpriced meal that's not well prepared with substandard service from waiters? If you're going to have bad service better to have it at $10 or $20 as opposed to $300, right?

That's over the top. Although, you may not agree with the decision, it's their decision to make. Every human being has a right to be treated as a person.

Reading this story where it's mentioned being rapee at 11, I would agree with your assumption of confusion. Perhaps, the first thing would be to address all of the issues that they have dealt with. I'm not going to debate on the transgender topic but the first thing that needs to be ironed out is whether there is some issue driving this or do most or all of them actually want to.change gender. That is a very radical step.

On the exaggerated behavior, I agree as well. It's like trying to be a woman or man times two or three.

Lol. That's the standard Bahamian argument. We don't have accountability. That is the problem.

I don't get the argument that the Bahamas is a high end destination therefore people coming here are prepared to pay a premium. Sounds quite idiotic to me. I need him to explain what makes this a high end (luxury) destination. We have nice beaches, yes. But, so do a lot of places around the world. To say something like that suggests to me he doesn't travel much or understand the concept of luxury. Tell me, besides beaches, what do we have that outshines most places globally. We don't even respeft.our history to preserve our historical sites. Our culture goes way beyond Junkanoo and conch salad people, but how.much of it does a tourist really see or better yet.how much do we as Bahamians see?

There are lots of deficiencies in the tourism product. It seems that the entire Ministry of Tourism hasn't figured that out yet.

I don't think we can equate there murders with the argument for gender based violence. Although this is equally a tragedy, there is a distinct difference compared to.gender based violence. I believe most of what is being argued is in the context of relationships. So a boyfriend, a husband commits a crime against his other half not turf wars.

I admire the passion Miss Wallace has on this and other issues. We need more of this. People spend too much time being obstacles or ignoring things around them. We need more voices out there trying to make things right in our country. In the words of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

The argument a lot of people put forward on marital rape is that when getting married it isnsysted that the two become one. So, in their minds tape can't happen. I think the whole debate about marital rape is more complicated than it needs to be. If the law doesn't allow you to beat your wife or kill her why should rape be allowed? Punishment for a crime can of course be all over the map depending on the details of the offense and the criminal.history of the offender. But, I don't think we need a long debate on rape. You can't allow for assault or murder to be a crime (in marriage and outside) but rape isn't.

I don't get it. He wants to make it more difficult to legally own a gun. Interesting! Every criminal on the street can have an illegal firearm. No approvals necessary. Soz why make it harder for law abiding citizens. Requiring training in handling, etc. is fine. But, approvals take forever to get and the longer you delay the process or make it more difficult to obtain a license you make it harder for law abiding citizens to protect themselves. Criminals on the street don't have to wait for the Commissioner to give an approval.

I'm not sure why Mrs. Wilson mentioned this. There are tons of things for kids to know to be prepared for the world. Not sure why this was mentioned. Are we educating them to racial discrimination, "Me Too" movements, public corruption, infidelity, etc. There are a bunch of topics. I'm sure Mrs. Wilson don't want those covered. So why this. I think everyone has rights and people should respect a person's rights. Kids will ask questions. Address questions when asked don't make it a part of the curriculum. Part of not being an adult is you are insulated from the real world. Let kids be kids, please. The community is constantly evolving, it's confusing for adults so imagine trying to explain this to kids. Not a good idea.

Mrs. Wilson should be concerned about the failing schools of the teachers she represents. Fix Math. Fic Wnglish! When things are going great and kids are smart enough to understand what they need to know then maybe we can start a discussion on other things.
