Speechless unless we the people continue to stand strong for our nation that we love and desire this type abuse would forever be on going. One bielection and it would should all Government that we maybe label as D average but we aren't stupid and enough is enough
Why have a constitutional referendum if you can't vote the way that you want to vote I voted yes on a question also but the main thing is the majority of ppl said no to all of the bills, reality is most of none of those bills are benefiting majority of the Bahamians so they voted no cause they see no need to vote yes. The ridiculous saying but women are being treated unequal is a whole bunch of nonsense and also played a big role of the failure of these bills and as for their kids it's ridiculous to say they didn't thought about their kids when every Bahamian child is in school receiving a proper education n making their way through college with the help of their parents. Put the blame where the blame is due, instead of focusing only on citizenship calling it gender equality the government should focus more on the Bahamian people putting the people first. The referendum is over and the voice of the people has sounded. It's not like these bills aren't in the Constitutions already they are there and many who applied has successfully succeeded so why can't anyone else succeed.
this the same reason why these bills have been rejected why insult anyone for exercising their very own constitutional rights you voted as you wish so place your one vote exit the room and allow a next voter to vote as they wish its their vote not your, the PLP, vote yes and most definitely not the no vote choice its the single individual to use their vote as they wish.
women are the lead in our country and if most women feel that they need more right let the result be shown at the poles and let the guys sit and listen to women and show and give the women full support in the referendum bills regardless of how we feel becaue without women us men are weak and we need our women, but as a married couple residing in the Bahaams my wife would isnt supporting bills one and two we both are Bahamian citizens rasing a blessed Family and i am not that crazy to force her to support bill 3 because who would a married man want to have children outside of his marriage in this marriage we are both sharing and maintaining equal right among ourselves and working as a great team to raise our children who we are seeking to be the future leaders of the Bahamas. let our children be the leaders and because we dont want to continue to grow up watching our children work under anyone at all mainly foreigners, let our children have equal right to every office and contracts in the Bahamas give our children a future in the Bahamas and not be driven out of their own country by anyone.
okay agreed but isnt that the only thing in the Bahamas that a woman can do that a man can not do(pass citizenship onto their spouse) in The Bahamas women has way more right than any man women are the heads of basically everything and us men out of due love, respect and honor for our women we sit comfortably allowing woman to lead and head every day lives, women are outthere working hard to get where they want to be with hard sweat tears and muscle aches i think its an insult to say women are not equal to men in the Bahamas after all that our women has done for us and the far way that women has taking Bahamas in the path of righteousness and honor.
Have anyone notice that the present BAR association president have yet to give any support on of any of the bills and he is one of the only high powered person holding a very high seat who have yet to dismissed the former court of appeal judge comments, why havent he showed any support on any of the bills yet.....mmmmmm...maybe he is being cautious on voicing his opinion due to these bills being made so political and bias
do not allow what this or any other Government cause anyone to vote with resentment or hate, for no one should be forcing a yes or no vote down anyone throat, this is our constitutional voting rights and rather we vote yes or no not a single voter should be discriminated on the way they choice to exercise their voting rights. So Please Bahamians vote for what you think is best for our country and our nation, me myself isnt going to vote based of the negative affect from the Government or the yes or no vote champagners but am voting for my generations yet to come to have a future in their home town and to be the leaders of this great nation and not be a follower for anyone who wishes to reside in the Bahamas, but let our kinds and grand kids be the leader and have a future in the Bahamas give them a chance to be put first in the country which they are and would grow up in.
it is his law giving right to agree or disagree with any or all of the bills why are we always slashing the throats of anyone who doesnt support the bills. Do not we deserve to exercise our constitutional right the way that we want to without being lambasted by anyone. if Yes supporters are freely exercising their rights why cant the No supporters?
stopped reading the first couple lines, if i was an undecided voter this statement surely would raise a highly red flag and out of paranoid i would had choice to strictly vote no ti protect myself and my country from what appears to be a serious scam plot against the people of the Bahamas. best thing that Government can do to try secure the little yes voters is to remain silent until referendum has passed, they are only adding more insult to injury and hijacking the yes vote themselves.
why is it the anyone who disagrees with any of these bills being lambasted and castigated. do we hear any of the no vote discriminating anyone who supports any of the bills? simply all that they are doing is giving thier views and opinion of the bills. can we not living in a Democracy country where we can freely voice our opinions and say how we feel? why do name calling at any body who just want their voice to be heard, how much level of ignorance are we displaying by trying to take away the voice of any man, woman, child even foreigner? why call someone ignorant just for expressing how they feel? should the Yes supporters be allowed to continue to to try to stamp the free thinking people who disagree with their feelings? how ignorant is that.
