Mrs Q, you're so off base I think you're in the wrong stadium. 1. You're comparing a country a domestic market 300k with one that 70 Million. 2. Lockdown before the virus takes off is one thing, lockdown at this point when you have massive community spread, well it's about as useful as Fauci 's goggles. 3. Collateral damage much !? - economy, surgeries, diagnostics, suicides, drug abuse, crime - all moves the wrong way; all with a price tag in death... 4. It's not worth that collateral damage - the virus survived by 99.8-99.9% of persons infected basically the same as severe flu season...If it was MERS or ebola...then yeah lock me down...5. If you want to lockdown personally then you should totally do that..- it used to be a free planet..
A lockdown is about as useful as holding your breadth with someone farts in the elevator and you're riding to the top floor of a very tall building... some point you got it get out and use the stairs, or breath, gag and get through it. Either way holding your breadth is pointless you'll collapse unconscious or breathe anyway. We're stuck in the elevator, we can't get out and whats worse we're trying to get people in here...Where's my air freshener..?
Functionality of the 'gravy' aside...He's not wrong.. You honestly think Bahamians can 'afford' lockdowns at this point with collapse of our tourism economy?
Sweden has has experienced nearly no excess death in comparison to other years. And nearly a large % of the deaths occurred in care facilities rather than in the population. On average 208 people die every month in the bahamas, roughly 6 per day, mostly of the things that make them vulnerable to COVID 19 (estimated from latest mortality report dated 2014). Because we have no historical data on death we're bumbling around in the Dark...as with other countries the standard procedure through testing is they move death from one bucket to the other and blame covid because it gives Govs the excuse to behave like feckless dictators...and cover their butts because of the big booboo (Cratering economies, killing people by delaying diagnostics and treatments, contributing severe depression through economic collapse and loss of social connections) they all made when "the COVID ant" climbed over the lamp and made a big scary shadow...locking down does jack sh*t, we know this, europe knows this, the usa, asia know this...south america know this...even brave knows this.... everyone knows this now....minnis please please just move on...
This is insane.. churches indoors, air conditioned and involve singing - scientifically the ideal place to contract an airborne virus such COVID19.... just bad bad decision making...beaches are one the safest place you can be...so one wake me up when these fools are out of power...lockdown by another name still stinks and well likely to cause more infections...
Or it’s an airborne virus which which means masks, social distancing and hand washing cannot fully mitigate the spread....Oh wait Well look at that - cdc finally confirms...
Well not a fan of cnn but as I mentioned to Jim there trump ain’t my flavor. The whole lying, cheating, disrespecting women, countries the environmental... just turn off.. but if you re into that... cool good for u!
