It never ceases to amaze me how so many Bahamians feel entitled to certain benefits and positions. I'm sure that the PLP helped to foster this attitude. I would not be surprised if these temporary hires were not promised continued employment if the PLP had won the election. So sad!
Brilliant move on the part of Ministry of Tourism! Once again we will see our tourism numbers rise. There is no reason whatsoever that the Dominican Republics and some other popular destinations should be doing better than us.
I see nothing hypocritical in the new government using a vehicle that has already been established in law by a previous government. Succeeding governments do this all of the time. There is a big difference between campaigning and governing.
This letter is right on. I so much agree. Where is the outrage when countless young men are hauled before the courts handcuffed, shackled, bruised, and beaten?
Some of you bloggers just make stuff up! Mr. Henfield is an attorney, and a brilliant one too. However, don't let a little fact get in the way of belittling a well-qualified young Bahamian. Tal, you just make up stuff that has no grounding whatsoever in any semblance of truth.
Mr. Chipman should settle this matter very quickly, if the claimant is being honest, simply to avoid other negative publicity so early in his political career. On the other hand, if there is no merit to the claim, let the Courts settle it, particularly to discourage others who might be so inclined.
Mr. Dames is right not to respond to this question. There is never a need to respond to every rumour or innuendo when a mike is shoved in your face by a lazy reporter. When the appointed time comes, the public will learn of Commissioner Greenslade's fate. Until then, everyone should sit small.
If anyone really believe the arrest of Smith and the other employees from BAIC was ordered by Minnis, or the unappointed AG or Minister of Natiional Security, they are either politically naïve, or disingenuous. Off course persons were seen taking items out of a government building after hours and the police were called. Come on Bahamians, the silly season is over. Come let's reason together.
@Reality_Check Are you suggesting that just because we disagree on a backwards Regulation, that most modern quasi-military, and some military, organizations are abandoning, your arguments are laced with common sense and mine is sadly lacking? If truth be told your nonsense about a beard being a handicap in hand-to-hand combat is lacking in common sense just behind your next comment about a beard "demands much hygiene up-keep time". What silly drivel!
