Very good editorial. Of course they are already in the economy and so we should regularize them.
The key is to get the RBDF to do its job. They are the ones who should be sent home. All they do is collect a cheque for doing nothing. The number of Haitians who have made it to Bahamian shores shows that the RBDF does nothing and should be disbanded.
This study gives us a road map to our success. We must follow the advice and benefit from it. If we don't join we will slip further back and unemployment will increase.
It is clear that we are at a turning point in our countries future. We either change, join and do well or we don't do either and become another Haiti economically.
Focusing on WTO has made us focus on making doing business more easy. Business License renewals are a good example. It has also required us to look at Fiscal Responsibility and we now get quarterly reports from the Government.
The lack of foreign direct investment is killing us now. We won't get much FDI unless we join the WTO.

you don"t need to raise fees. Plug the $100 million dollar a year leak and have $60 million more for the people. Make people in the PHA accountable for the expenditures. Stop making Bahamians pay for a poorly run Health system. Do your job as a Minister and clean up the system. We all know that something needs to be done about the way the Civil Service operates. You will get lots of support if you clean it up.
