Atlanta Schools are called off Monday and Tuesday, that when Irma arrives here with 75 mph winds. Nothing compared to Fla, but enough for wide spread power outages, roof damages, and flooding. Lots of roads will be with fallen tree and rising water.

If you were from the Southern Islands I bet you wouldn't want them abandoned. They like their simple life, why would they want to give that up to the crime in New Providence. I'm sure they still enjoy family values and live where neighbors help neighbors. You find that kind of life these days and your smart to keep it.

Banker your too funny. You might be surprised that I have a good sense of humor. I'm certainly not a stick in the mud and don't have a thing against gays or anyone else. I love people and there are a lot of good one. We do live in a society that is full of bologna.

Why shouldn't a radio station take off, the government offices closed. From what I read this morning heck the hospitals closed and doctors were unavailable. By the way none of this is acceptable. You have to take care of everyone, and someone has to over see this. Of course their safety is important too, but this doesn't mean "good luck". Hospitals and doctors, nurses should be working over time with injures. They are needed worse during these times. Of course if the hospital is in a dangerous area, you evacuate it and open a make shift hospital in a safe location. I try to stay positive when making comments, but this is ridiculous and a joke. These officials are being paid to work these problems out and to finance it. What about people with broken bones, lacerations, heart attacks (from the stress). You guys need to demand better, and if they won't do it get rid of them.

Kajnlady1 I don't know if this is true, but when this happens it is a sign of a tsunami and you should always seek higher ground. That is why so many die in Tsunami's is when the ocean recedes they are often fascinated and stay to watch and then it's too late.

Glad to see that Nassau and Grand Bahama has been spared from this hurricane. Now it is on us. Traffic on Friday even in Atlanta was bumper to bumper from evacuees. All hotels are full, camp grounds and Atlanta Speedway has opened for RV's or tents. There is free showers. Grocery stores are empty and fuel supplies are low. We're still waiting it out.

Wow what a active hurricane season. I hope it's not as bad as it seems. Hug those you love. I don't know, but a hug would make me feel better right now.

Coming home from work the news was reporting that Irma has shifted to the West.
