This is a weird news article. This is written more like an opinion piece rather than from the point of view of objective journalism. I"m not on the side of Bannister or Osborne.

But I think it's important to present news articles without bias. Just state the FACTS and let the readers decide!
This is what is killing me about this government. Everywhere they're crying... waa...waa... there's no money, there's no money. But when they want to spend money unnecessarily they find it very quickly.
That's like a man saying to his wife well we have no food and no water to drink, but I think we need to redesign the kitchen and put in marble countertops. This spending just doesn't add up!!!
I agree with you MP Robinson despite what posters here say. Only he who feels it knows it and you're trying to look out for the welfare for your constituents once again.

As a side joke, maybe Minnis could have donated his travel expenses for his "VAT defense island tour" on school uniforms. The government wastes money when it wants to. At least this is for a good cause.
These hit and run drivers need much harsher penalties!

Anyone can have an accident, but when you flee the scene it means something else is going on. Maybe you are under the influence, stole the vehicle being driven, driving without a license, etc. Whatever the case, the current penalties for hit-and-runs are a joke!
If it was truly "just an accident" the person would stay on the scene.
This problem is two-fold. The 4c Owner is reprehensible for resuming operations before the investigation was complete.
But why did it take "news reporting" to find out that they resumed operations. Was no one in the government in Exuma aware of this? Was the government not monitoring the situation as they claimed they would be?
Too much slackness all around if ya ask me!
I am saddened by the loss of another visitor. My condolences to the family.

However, I hope that police go through a thorough investigation of these incidents. They seem to be happening so frequently recently.
I always get backlash for this because of the xenophobic nature of our society but I feel there has to be a way to be fair to Bahamians, while still treating Haitians with more respect than they are shown. I don't believe in shanty towns... but besides that many Bahamians treat Haitians terribly (as if they are sub-human).

Yet at the same time we call ourselves a "Christian" nation. God created all of us equally. We will be judged by the way we treat our fellow man. Let's hold up the laws of the land, but do so in a humane manner. (I don't know what the solution is but let's remember that God made them too.)
