Take pride in your presentation - it makes you a more self aware and a better person. A personal sense of well being achieved through dressing well and appropriately as well as making a habit of proper hygiene does wonders for self image. We don't wish to look at Walmart dress attitudes while shopping for food!

Perhaps - but this is the best time to restructure downtown - get rid of the straw market vendors who sell false and non Bahamian products, get rid of the t-shirt and junk jewellery shops and the hair braiders as well as connected lowlifes, get rid of the pickup joints for local and foreign sex workers, mandate that those who deboard cruise ships wear proper clothing not scanty beach wear and reinstitute Nassau and the Bahamas as a vibrant and class destination. Once we attract the right customers and control the unwanted and illegal faction we will be well on the way to the greater destination that we once were and can be again. Numbers of visitors that are like cockroaches and fleas only degrade our product but degrade the populace which sinks to the lowest level possible to gain some scratching return from the bug infested and bottom feeding expectations of those high volume low spending and non performing cruise carriers that we currently attract.

Millions of cheap American cruise morons who give nothing to our economy and only cost us dearly. Sink those mega shipe for artificial reefs and at least give the fish a place to live and play.

Well said indeed, Bruce Raine.I echo that in its entirety and have been expounding the same message again and again for years - but you said it better! Let's hope that they hear and that they take back control of the cruise lines and limit their size, their closing of shops bars and restaurants on board in all ports and vastly improve the structure of tourist quality. It must be demanded, not suggested.

We need to get rid of the cruise industry with mega ships built for mass creap passenger transport. Only ships to be allowed in Bahamian waters should be no larger than what we allowed in the 1970's and 1980's They ran quality tourists, did not open up their facilities in port and the town was alive with quality products to buy, entertain and consume. The straw market was a place of pride rather than what it is now - a market for cheap imported trash that has nothing to do with the Bahamas. The people in the market were innovative and polite, and Bahamians who radiated pride in their work Today they sell body and soul openly - these must go also.

SP - absolutely right! They must be kept away like a disease!

Well itr seems that the pirating by Dominicans and Red Chinese would have no problem with Bahamian competition!
