There will be no attempt to arrest or prosecute the owners of these clubs.I have heard about similar situations like this in the past.

Very sad situation. My condolences to the family. This story also mentions something that shall
be talked about more.. That is finding a way to get Bahamians living aboard to be more engaged in the development of this country. There are many persons like the deceased living aboard.Highly educated and accomplished in their fields.

All efforts should be expended to collect those funds. The list of all persons who are delinquent should be printed and the amount outstanding.I am tired of being made to pay through taxes for the folly, mismanagement and outright theft of the state's resources.

What we have here in the Bahamas is a joke.We have a powerful executive, the cabinet.A parliament that does not function and a so so judiciary.Watch the house of commons and see the difference. We don't even follow the westminister traditions or conventions. This trend was started like so many things today under the late Sir Lynden Pindling.

i have no problems with the establishment of a Bahamas based international lottery. When i made that comment,I was thinking about countries like Antigua and St.Vincent. They are smaller countries than the Bahamas and they have lotteries

BONEFISH says...

Why does this country attract so many con men, swindlers, scam artists and other shysters?
On the other hand, this country seems unable to develop world-class festivals? Some one I know said St,Lucia where his wife is from, had a hugely successful jazz festival.Tobago also has a jazz festival also. The Bahamas which sits in the lap of the United States of America can't do these things.I simply don't get it.

I blame both political parties PLP and FNM for this mess. This country should have a national lottery. The proceeds from it can be used to fund education, sports, charities and community development.Other countries have done that, But hey this is the Bahamas,
